JASC Mentor Program

Background

In order to provide corporations with an opportunity to meet delegates from the Japan-America Student Conference, JASC has developed relationships with nearly 100 corporations and agencies in the U.S. and Japan . We work closely with the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan and business groups in the United States .

This is a relationship which benefits all participants - young JASC alumni learn about career opportunities and get advice from mentors in government, business and the non-profit sector, while executives in these fields have a chance to meet and encourage bright, enthusiastic young people with a strong interest in the U.S.-Japan relationship.

At the end of each Conference, JASC Inc. provides delegates with a list of specific contacts who have expressed interest in the JASC Mentor Program.

The JASC alumni will send his/her cover letter and resume to the mentor contact and follow up with a phone call. The Mentor can suggest how the mentor relationship will develop. Examples include:

•  Telephone conversation/meeting
•  Career and sector advice
•  Introductions
•  Internship (paid or unpaid)
•  Resume evaluation

Is your company interested in hearing from our students delegates / alumni?

After the Conference, many of the students choose to pursue career opportunities. Should you be interested in being contacted by a JASC alum interested in possible internship, mentoring or work opportunities, please .
